SciTechathon

SciTechAthon is an opportunity for upcoming students to take a closer look at our Physics, Electrical, and Computer Engineering programs and engage with our faculty and current students. SciTech2023 saw students enjoying a large reception dinner, followed by tours of the facilities.  The next day, they were able to perform various experiments and listen to current students and alumni share their experiences about current and post-grad life.

SciTech 2023 was such a huge success, and we look forward to being able to offer the workshop again at the beginning of 2024.  Please come back here for updates on SciTech 2024!

What happens at SciTechAthon?

This weekend workshop is for high school seniors thinking about majoring in physics, electrical engineering, or computer engineering at Seattle University; to get an up-close look at our program. Participants will meet the SU faculty, current students, and complete interesting experiments in our well-equipped laboratories.

Friday evening, participants will enjoy a reception and dinner with the SU faculty and students followed by a brief orientation and tour of the departments and facilities. Saturday is a packed day full of activities featuring experiments across a variety of subjects.

Check out the previous experiments!

Why SU SciTechathon?

We want to show you how enriching and interesting an education at Seattle University can be! Our excellent programs boast great teachers and opportunities to collaborate on frontier research, and our faculty, staff, and students form a close-knit and supportive community of scholars. Our students receive excellent preparation for graduate school or technical careers in teaching, engineering, or research, and in the meantime enjoy spending their college years in the beautiful, vibrant city of Seattle. SU SciTechathon is designed to give you a close look at what we have to offer and a sense of what studying physics, electrical, or computer engineering here would be like. We are confident you will like what you see, and we hope that many who attend will choose to enroll at Seattle University.
