AI for Equity is an experience for high school students interested in criminal justice and artificial intelligence.
Applications are closed for Summer 2025. The Summer 2026 application will open in Winter 2026
Technology Meets Equity
The Seattle University AI for Equity program teaches students about the intersection of modern technology and criminal justice issues, such as bias and equity.
- Understand the relationship between machine learning and artificial intelligence.
- Describe some of the basic ways that the field of criminal justice is using artificial intelligence.
- Explain the basic ethical challenges of artificial intelligence.
- Evaluate solutions from a technical perspective as well as from a lens of social justice.
- Create AI solutions to traditional social problems.
- Understand the fundamentals of machine learning.
- Evaluate different machine learning techniques applied to common datasets.
- Guest speakers from the local Seattle Area
Important Dates
Program Dates: Sunday, July 12 – July 17, 2026 (Overnight Program)
Application Priority Deadline: April 25, 2026
Notification Date: Beginning May 8, 2026
Program Fees
Nonrefundable Deposit: $50
- Deposit is applied towards total cost of attendance.
Cost of Attendance: $1,500
- Includes course work, curricular excursions, co-curricular activities and residential cost.
- Scholarships are available! The scholarship application is accessible within the program application.
