Earn $10,000 + Support on Your Licensure Journey

Are you looking to get an LMFT, LICSW, or LMFT?

Becoming a licensed behavioral health provider takes dedication—and too often, it also takes financial sacrifices that make the path harder than it needs to be. That’s why the National Mental Health Workforce Acceleration Collaborative (NMHWAC) is here to help.

Why This Program Matters

Right now, there’s a major shortage of behavioral health providers. Many people who want to serve their communities as counselors and therapists face steep barriers such as financial strain, a complicated licensure process, high-stakes licensure exams, isolation, and burnout, all of which make it harder to serve their communities. In fact, nearly half of master’s-level graduates never make it to licensure.

You don’t have to be one of them. With up to $10,000 in funding, plus mentorship, exam support, and a community by your side, you can reach licensure with greater ease and confidence.

What You’ll Receive

  • Up to $10,000 in stipends and professional development
  • Peer support groups, mentorship, and networking with fellow providers
  • On-demand and live trainings to strengthen your skills
  • Licensure exam preparation to help you succeed

Who Can Apply

You’re encouraged to apply if you:

  • Have (or soon will have) a master’s degree in behavioral health
  • Have completed 0–30% of your supervised hours
  • Are actively working toward clinical licensure
  • Have financial need
  • Work for (or have an offer from) a qualified community-based organization

Application for the next cohort is open November 3-16, 2025.
