Seattle University showed up to officially greet and celebrate a new chapter with its next president.

Seattle University’s new President Maura Mast, PhD, was given a fulsome welcome to campus from her new colleagues—faculty and staff alike—along with students, all of whom mingled with her over morning coffee and conversation at a meet-and-greet and ushered in her arrival on campus with welcoming signs and cheerful greetings. There was even a high-five with Rudy the Redhawk!

In a message to the campus community, Dr. Mast spoke of the “remarkable community” that she is now part of and how she will spend the coming weeks “listening, learning and getting to know more students, faculty, staff, alumni and friends of the university.”

Said Dr. Mast,It is clear I have arrived at a university with extraordinary momentum. As we bring the goals of our Strategic Directions to life, prepare for the campuswide transition to semesters, continue integrating Cornish College of the Arts into our university, and build on the excitement of our recent move to the West Coast Conference, there is much to celebrate and much still to accomplish.”

Take a look at some of the scenes from her arrival on campus:
