The Lexi Harris Memorial Scholarship honors the life and legacy of Lexi Harris by supporting undergraduate students at Seattle University—particularly those navigating non-traditional paths and pursuing careers in service to others.

Beginning in Spring 2026, this endowed scholarship will transition from Seattle Colleges to Seattle University. Lexi’s parents chose to continue the scholarship at Seattle University because of their deep connection to the university’s mission and its commitment to educating students who serve the common good.

HONORING LEXI'S LEGACY

Lexi Harris was born and raised in Seattle, attending Seattle Public Schools and participating in Seattle Central College’s Running Start program. After a career in the fitness industry, she joined the Seattle Police Department to serve the community she loved.

Known for her empathy, dedication, and respect for others, Lexi primarily served in downtown Seattle, where she built meaningful connections across a diverse community. Her life was tragically cut short while she was rendering aid at the scene of a multi-car accident on I-5.

Her legacy lives on through this scholarship, reflecting her compassion and commitment to service.

Supporting Students with Purpose

The Lexi Harris Memorial Scholarship provides financial support to undergraduate students with demonstrated financial need, with a focus on those navigating non-traditional paths and balancing school with life’s responsibilities.

Preference is given to students who:

  • Have experienced a delayed entry into college
  • Are working full-time while pursuing their degree
  • Are single parents or have dependents 

Special consideration is also given to students in the Criminal Justice, Criminology, and Forensics program who are committed to advancing the inclusion of women in the field.

By supporting students who are driven to make a difference—especially in public service and helping professions—the scholarship carries forward Lexi’s belief in showing up for others and serving the community with compassion.
