Adjunct Professor, School Counseling (SCOUN)

Alexa Wayman, MAEd, LMHC, NCC, NBCT is an Adjunct Professor in the Counseling Program. Alexa teaches advanced counseling lab courses as well as a variety of foundational counseling classes. Alexa is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor and Clinical Supervisor in the State of Washington and a National Board Certified and credentialed educator (School Counselor). Alexa received her bachelor’s degree in Psychology and International Studies from Seattle University in 2010. She also received a Master of Arts in Education, specializing in School and Mental Health Counseling, with ESA certification from Seattle University in 2013. Working in school systems for nine years, Alexa has had multiple roles in the Seattle community, all with the goal of advocating for equity while cultivating health and empowerment. Currently, she works as a School Counselor at Cascade Middle School in White Center, Seattle. She also works as a private practice therapist enrolled in a DBT training program and a member of the DBT Eastside Consultation Team.
