Biography
Dr. Kyle DeRosia, Assistant Teaching Professor in the Department of Kinesiology at Seattle University, earned his PhD in Kinesiology from Oregon State University. He is a certified strength and conditioning specialist (CSCS) through the National Strength and Conditioning Association and a Level 2 certified weightlifting coach through USA weightlifting. His research focuses on how an individual’s physical and perceptual abilities affect their movement strategies during reactive change of direction tasks. He uses three-dimensional motion capture, force transducers, EMG, and other techniques to measure human movement. The overarching goal of his research is to identify ways to enhance agility performance and training. Outside of research, Kyle enjoys learning about and trying new cuisines.
