Erin Chung — Faculty ; Adjunct Professor, Performing Arts and Arts Leadership (Piano) ; Cornish College of the Arts .

Erin Chung is a native of Seoul, Korea. She studied piano at the Eastman School of Music and received her doctoral degree from the University of Washington, where she studied under the tutelage of Robin McCabe, Bela Siki, and Anton Nel, among others.

She made her debut with the Houston Symphony Orchestra at age 17, and has appeared with numerous symphony orchestras, in solo recitals, and in chamber music performances in United States, Canada, Germany, Austria and Korea. This list includes Mannheim Musikhochschule (Conservatory), Heidelberger Fruhling Musikfestival, Dong-Eui University in Korea, the University of California at Los Angeles, the University of Washington, Seattle Chamber Music Festival, Second City Chamber Music Festival, Aspen Music Festival, Bowdoin Music Festival, and Johannesen International School of the Arts (Victoria, British Columbia). The Rhein-Neckar Zeitung in Germany observed of her performance at the 12th Internationale Klavierwoche, “Everything seemed to transcend under her hands or to glow in a sharp and virtuous drive.” (translated from the German). In 2012, she performed a duo concert with Dr. Quinton Morris (on violin) to a sold out audience at Carnegie Hall.

In demand as an interpreter of contemporary music, she has worked closely with internationally recognized composers David Lefkowitz and Detlev Glanert for premiere performances.

Dr. Chung has been a member of the piano faculty at Seattle University since 2008.
