About this Course
This introductory course fosters a critical lens to examine the historical, political, social, and cultural factors that impact schools and schooling and the systemic changes necessary for more equitable schools. A focus will be included on indigenous communities. Professional learning communities are introduced and developed as a foundation for humanizing the teaching/learning process. Elementary teacher candidates register for Section 1 and secondary teacher candidates register for Section 2. Sections may be combined.
