NW Ethics Network

The Center for Business Ethics at Seattle University is the administrative home for the Northwest Ethics Network (NWEN), an independent group of ethics and compliance professionals representing over 30 Pacific Northwest organizations. NWEN meets in a confidential setting to network, facilitate member-led discussions of best practices and examine current issues facing ethics and compliance professionals.

NWEN membership is open to managers of companies, non-profit organizations and agencies of government who work in ethics and compliance as well as other allied fields. NWEN is not a venue for consultants or vendors to promote their services; rather, it is a meeting for individuals to learn from one another.

Meetings

NWEN meets quarterly, typically two hours over breakfast on the campus of Seattle University. NWEN members also host meetings from time to time at their organization in the greater Seattle area. NWEN also provides opportunities to share information and attend workshops and events coordinated by the Center for Business Ethics.

Guest speakers or members at large lead the meetings. Previous meeting topics have included:

  • The Virtual Workplace and the Future of Work
  • Developing an Effective Anti-Corruption Program
  • New Compliance Challenges with Data Privacy
  • Creating "Safety" and "Safe Spaces" in an Organization

To Join

NWEN does not collect dues and does not have a formal charter or bylaws. The group and its meetings are funded by the Center for Business Ethics and the Frank Shrontz Chair for Professional Ethics at Seattle University’s Albers School for Business and Economics.

Membership to NWEN is free and open to professionals who have organizational positions in ethics and compliance as well as other related fields. To request membership, please contact visit www.nwethics.org
