Learning Outcomes

The Bachelor of Arts in Public Affairs curriculum is designed so that our students will achieve the following objectives:

  • Understand the interface of public affairs theory, policy development and its application to service for a more just and humane world
  • Empower the student with the tools needed for community leadership including the ability to work with diverse persons/people and appreciate different perspectives
  • Develop critical thinking, research skills and effective writing to shape public policy development and analysis
  • Demonstrate the ability to work with others to translate public need into public policy and planning
  • Develop human and financial management skills

The Nonprofit and Public Administration Minor curriculum is designed so that our students will achieve the following objectives:

  • A working knowledge of the public, nonprofit and philanthropic sectors
  • Preparedness to more effectively contribute to society as an active and engaged citizen locally and globally
