Mission Statement

As the elected representatives of the Seattle University undergraduate student body, the Student Government of Seattle University (SGSU), formed in harmony with the University's mission, is the official voice and advocate for students. SGSU communicates with students regarding their collective and constituent interests, promotes opportunities for student leadership and involvement, assists in the development of a cohesive undergraduate community, and provides the undergraduate community with political and financial support.

How to Seek Office

We're glad you're considering launching a campaign to join SGSU. Seeking a position within student government is straightforward and easy! Follow the steps below to get your name on the ballot: 

  1. Attend an info session to learn more about the open positions.
  2. Complete a Candidate Declaration Packet on ConnectSU (found here) by 11:59 pm on October 6th. 
  3. Check your email for info about Mandatory Orientation sessions to learn about campaigning.
  4. Campaign.
  5. Vote & Come by STCN 360 for an "I Voted!" sticker!

The SGSU office is located in Student Center 360. We're open Monday - Friday, 9:00am - 5:00pm.
