Gov. Jay Inslee answers questions from a panel consisting of seniors Anna Smalley and Gabby Batinich and the Institute of Public Service Professional in Residence Joni Balter and IPS Professor Larry Hubbell.

The governor was the guest speaker of Seattle University’s ‘Conversations’ series presented by the Institute of Public Service, in conjunction with the Center for Environmental Justice and Sustainability.

Governor Jay Inslee took center stage at Seattle University on April 14 to discuss how youth—with an audience featuring many SU students—are instrumental in helping lead the way in the fight against climate change.

The governor’s talk, “How America Can Lead the World in Alleviating Global Climate Change,” was part of the Earth Month programming with the Institute of Public Service’s “Conversations” series and in partnership with the Center for Environmental Justice and Sustainability.

After the Q&A-style discussion with the panel, which included SU seniors Anna Smalley and Gabby Batinich, Inslee met privately with SU leaders, including President Eduardo Peñalver, to cover a range of topics including financial support for students, nurse and attorney licensing, land use and housing reform.
