Lexi Brenneman Harris Memorial Scholarship
Honoring a life of service by supporting Seattle University students pursuing purpose-driven paths.
The Lexi Brenneman Harris Memorial Scholarship honors Lexi’s life and legacy by supporting undergraduate students at Seattle University—particularly those navigating non-traditional paths and pursuing careers in service to others.
The founders of the endowment, Laird Harris, Rebecca Brenneman (Lexi’s parents), and family friends Jay Fathi and Joelle Fathi, BSN '95, chose Seattle University because of its commitment to recruiting the students the endowment is intended to support. SU’s academic offerings in Criminal Justice & Criminology, Forensic Psychology, Forensic Science, Social Work, Nursing, and other fields dedicated to service and community impact were also a critical factor in their decision.
HONORING LEXI'S LEGACY
Lexi Brenneman Harris was born and raised in Seattle, attending Seattle Public Schools, Seattle Central College, and graduating from University of British Columbia with a degree in Kinesiology. After a career in the fitness industry, she joined the Seattle Police Department to serve the community she loved.
Known for her empathy, dedication, and respect for others, Lexi primarily served as a bicycle officer in downtown Seattle, where she built meaningful connections across a diverse community. Her life was tragically cut short while she was rendering aid at the scene of a multi-car crash on I-5.

Preference is given to students who:
- Have experienced a delayed entry into college
