Undeclared Major

A Landing Place for Undecided and Undeclared Students

Discover, Discern, Declare

Not every student enters Seattle University with a declared major. Some students prefer to explore different interests, while others need time to complete the requirements to declare their chosen major. Through coaching and guided activities, your assigned advisor provides you with strategies to discover, discern, and declare your major without losing ground on degree completion.

CHESS Advising

Undeclared/Undecided advising is provided by the College of Humanities, Education and Social Sciences (CHESS). We focus on student growth rather than just course selection or degree requirements, and use academic coaching techniques like active listening, open-ended questions, and goal setting to help students reflect on their academic journey.
