Biography

Amy Michael has worked in finance and accounting in and out of the nonprofit sector for 25 years, including 7 years as the CFO of FareStart.  Amy is passionate about making numbers tell a story that is engaging and compelling for an array of different stakeholders, of empowering nonprofit leaders, staff and Boards to really “get” the numbers and feel confident in their fiduciary duties and to foster leadership in and out of the sector.  Amy has recently launched her own venture in coaching and consulting through which she will be able to impact an even broader group of nonprofit leaders and organizations with her vision of empowered leadership and strong financial savvy. 

Amy is a CIS gendered, straight, white woman who grew up in Seattle and is passionate about community involvement.  She currently serves as Board President for Women’s Funding Alliance and is an active member and leader at Washington Women’s Foundation. She received an Executive Master of Business Administration from Seattle University and Bachelor of Arts in Sociology and Women Studies from the University of Washington.
