Tsion Tesfaye ('29 - International Studies, Political Science, African Studies) introduces herself for her upcoming blog entries

Hi everyone!
My name is Tsion, and I’m originally from Seattle, Washington. I’m a second-year student at Seattle University majoring in International Studies and Political Science, with a minor in African Studies.

This summer, I have the exciting opportunity to study abroad in Morocco and Spain through Seattle University's Summer UCOR in Morocco & Spain Abroad program with IES. Since this is my first time traveling to both Europe and North Africa, I’m especially excited to explore new cities and experience different cultures. I’ll be staying with a host family in Morocco, so I’m looking forward to getting to know them, trying authentic Moroccan food, immersing myself in daily life, and learning beginner Arabic!

A little more about me: in my free time, I love watching movies and TV shows (currently doing a Marvel rewatch in preparation for Spider-Man: Brand New Day and Avengers: Doomsday), thrifting, going to concerts, painting, and exploring new cafés around Seattle.

I’ll be blogging throughout July, so follow along as I document my adventures abroad. I can’t wait to see what this experience has in store! :)
