Theatre, BFA

Beginning in Fall 2027, Cornish College of the Arts at Seattle University will offer a Theatre, BFA with four specialized pathways that prepare you for a professional career on stage or behind the scenes. You will build a strong foundation in performance, collaboration and creative problem solving while learning alongside accomplished faculty and a community of dedicated artists. Through studio training, production work and performance opportunities, you'll gain the experience needed to thrive in Seattle's vibrant arts community and beyond.

Choose the Acting & Original Works specialization to develop your skills as a performer, creator and storyteller through acting, movement, voice, directing and the creation of original work. The Musical Theatre specialization provides rigorous training in acting, singing and dance while preparing you for contemporary musical theatre performance. If your interests lie behind the scenes, the Stage Management specialization develops the organizational, leadership and communication skills needed to manage productions from rehearsal through performance. The Design & Productionspecialization prepares you for careers in scenic, costume, lighting and sound design, as well as technical production, through hands-on experience in professional-caliber performance spaces.

Students interested in expanding their studies can also pursue an Acting & Directing Minor or a Stage Management & Production Minor, whether alongside another major or to complement a Theatre degree. Together, these new programs and minors offer flexible pathways to develop your artistic voice while preparing for a wide range of careers in the performing arts.
