Seattle University Women’s Basketball, an 11th seed, completed a historic comeback on the first day of the 2023 Western Athletic Conference Tournament March 6, upsetting #6 UT Arlington, 80-78. Junior Peyton Howard knocked down two clutch free throws in the final four seconds to secure the upset. “This was a tremendous team effort from our team,” said Head Coach Suzy Barcomb. “This was a great experience for our young team and I am thrilled we get to play another day.” With the win the team advances to the quarterfinals, playing #3 seed Grand Canyon beginning at 8 p.m. March 8.
