Women's basketball celebrates its 80-78 win in the first round of the WAC tournament on March 6.

The team pulled an upset in the first round of the Western Athletic Conference Tournament with win vs. UT Arlington.

What a win!

Seattle University Women’s Basketball, an 11th seed, completed a historic comeback on the first day of the 2023 Western Athletic Conference Tournament March 6, upsetting #6 UT Arlington, 80-78. Junior Peyton Howard knocked down two clutch free throws in the final four seconds to secure the upset. 

“This was a tremendous team effort from our team,” said Head Coach Suzy Barcomb. “This was a great experience for our young team and I am thrilled we get to play another day.”

With the win the team advances to the quarterfinals, playing #3 seed Grand Canyon beginning at 8 p.m. March 8.
