Puget Sound Business Journal identifies some of the most important and influential leaders whose work is driving the region’s economy and supporting industry recovery efforts.

Puget Sound Business Journal (PSBJ) recently released its 2022 “40 Under 40” list of young professionals leading the way in health care, tech, science, hospitality and nonprofit sectors, among others.

“It was already an honor for Seattle University to count you among our alumni, but it is especially wonderful be able to celebrate you as you receive this prestigious recognition by the PSBJ,” shared President Eduardo Peñalver in a congratulatory letter he sent to each recipient.

SU alumni featured in this year’s list include:

  • Bilan Aden, ’09 (Albers), Associate Director, African Community Housing & Development
  • Emily Carrion, ’10 (Albers), Vice President of Marketing, Esper
  • Alexandra Lozano (née Kennedy), ’08 (School of Law), CEO & founding partner, Alexandra Lozano Immigration Law 
  • Lauren Parris Watts, ’11 (School of Law), partner, Seyfarth Shaw
  • Jerod Pierce, ’08 (Albers), President, Mercurio’s Heating & Air Conditioning; Olympic Holdings Investments
  • Essence Russ, ’07 (Arts & Sciences), Director, Technology Access Foundation

Former SU Assistant Professor of Social Work, Dr. Aakanksha Sinha, is also named among the recipients as co-founder of Spice Waala.
