The grant annually benefits tens of thousands of students and families, including those at Seattle U. “Created more than 40 years ago,” the op-ed explains, “(the State Need Grant) provides financial assistance to students with household incomes below 70 percent of the state’s median income, currently $59,000 for a family of four.” Joining Father Sundborg in writing the op-ed were University of Washington President Ana Mari Cauce and Seattle Colleges Chancellor Shouan Pan. “The State Need Grant,” the guest columnists continued, “is the backbone of financial aid for Washingtonians and provides a path to higher education and opportunities in our dynamic economy.” Read the full piece at Seattle Times.
