About

I began my professional life as a scientist studying oceanography. Looking for an opportunity to give back to the community while pursuing my graduate degree I became an Emergency Medical Technician (EMT). Through this experience, I realized that I had so much more passion for caring for others in their time of need than my current career path. I chose to leave my career in science and become a health care provider. As an EMT, I was able to meet many different health care professionals, which helped me to determine the path I wanted to pursue. I was immediately drawn to the Nurse Practitioners. I was inspired by their empathy, knowledge and skill sets. I completed my Master of Science in Nursing in Adult-Gerontology Acute Care NP at the Yale School of Nursing through their Graduate Entry Prespecialty in Nursing program. After graduating, I moved to Seattle and have worked in several different critical care units. I am a member of the UW-Montlake Sepsis Committee and serve as a co-lead for the Sepsis APP Response Team at Montlake.
