  • Mission

The Seattle University Sport Clubs Program provides students, faculty, and staff the opportunity to participate, educate, and compete in diverse recreational activities as a means to enhance their collegiate experience and provide a vehicle for a well-rounded education through physical, social, and leadership development.

    In Memory of Max Snyder

Max Snyder was the founding president of the Cycling Club who embodied everything that a student leader should through dedication, involvement, and carrying out his passion.  As the current cycling club members have said, "Max Snyder rode to work every day, cycled through backcountry wilderness, and gleefully raced through storms of all kinds, consistently exuding the same extraordinary enthusiasm we all loved. But Max showed us that it's about more than the ride or the individual, that with the bicycle, we can educate, empower, and change lives within our community, our neighborhood, and our world."

At the request of Max's parents, David and Paula Snyder, the Seattle University Cycling Club, which is overseen by the University Recreation department, will humbly continue to pursue these goals.

With your donation, we will provide programming such as bicycle maintenance parties, sponsor advocacy events to encourage community cycling such as Bike Month in May, and enable all students to race bicycles by lowering financial barriers such as travel costs and race fees.

This club and this community is Max's legacy, and everything we have accomplished, we owe to him. It is through this club that brought us together, and through this club that we honor him.

Please click here to reach the University Recreation giving site. When prompted please indicate that this donation is made “in honor of” the S.U. Cycling Club and in memory of Max Snyder.  Your donation receipt will read “University Recreation”.
