Seattle University's Commitment, Plan, and Leadership
In response to Pope Francis’s invitation to higher education institutions, Seattle University signed a letter of commitment in September 2021 to participate in the Seven-Year Journey Towards Integral Ecology and the Laudato Si’ Action Platform (LSAP). In February 2023, the LSAP Leadership team finalized SU's Laudato Si’ Action Plan, which was updated in 2026 to include five main priorities and 24 goals that span across the academics, campus operations, purchasing, investments, and campus and community engagement. Updated Laudato Si' Action Plan
The Seattle University Laudato Si' Action Plan, adopted in 2023 and updated in 2026, guides the goals and actions of our work to infuse integral ecology and sustainability across campus, in academic programs, engagement, operations, and investments.
