National Novel Writing Month

National Novel Writing Month is a creative writing project in which participants write a 50,000 word manuscript between November 1 and November 30. SU's Writing Center will be hosting events and activities to support and encourage NaNoWriMo participants throughout November.

Calendar of Events

1 November:

Coffee Kickoff! Join us at the Writing Center to kickoff the event in style! We'll have free coffee between 10 and 2, and we'll have writing games and prompts all day to help you get started! 

3 November:

Story Prompt Workshop! Come to the Writing Center at 9am to hear creative prompts and bounce ideas off of your peers. Also, find out how to stay strong all month long! 

9 November:

Come Write In! From 2pm to 4pm, bring in your novel or essay drafts and join fellow writers and WC Consultants in swapping writing tips, creating writing goals, and giving peer feedback. Or just stop by if you're looking for a quiet place to write!

17 November:

Build Story Depth Join us at the Writing Center at 9am. Learn about online writer resources, get peer feedback on a piece you're writing, and break through any mid-month wirter's block.

29 November:

Edit/Share Your Story! Come to the Writing Center at 9am to receive constructive feedback from peers, hear about other's NaNoWriMo experience, and get tips on editing and publishing processes.

30 November:

Wrap Up Party Stop by the Writing Center at 9am to celebrate your progress and share your work with other students, faculty, and staff!
