The Outreach Center is a community and resource space for members of the Seattle University community who identify as veterans and/or first-generation college students.

Each veteran is assigned to an Outreach Center staff member to assist with your academic, personal, and social success at Seattle University.

Tom works with veterans whose last names start with I - S.

Tom Hove grew up in Tracy, MT. He spent 4 years, in the US Navy, as a hospital corpsman. During his time in service he was stationed at Naval Hospital Guam, as well as, Naval Hsopital Bremerton. Currently Tom is working with Seattle University to create a veteran's resource center on campus. His interests are photography, anything outdoors, volunteering, and drinking coffee.

Georgia Pirie works with veterans whose last names start with A - H.

Georgia Pirie was born and raised in Hilo, Hawaii. She received her Bachelor of Arts in Environmental Ethics & Policy from the University of Portland. Georgia Pirie is now a first-year graduate student at Seattle University studying Student Development Administration. In her current position in The Outreach Center, Georgia helps support student-veterans through her advising of peer mentors and facilitating welcoming and inclusive programming. When she isn’t studying or supporting student-veterans, Georgia enjoys spending time with her family, exploring Seattle, and doing crossword puzzles.

Gretchenrae works with veterans whose last names start with T - Z.

Gretchenrae Campera is a city girl from Seattle, WA. She received her bachelor's degree from Seattle University in Psychology and her Master's degree in Interdisciplinary Studies from the University of Vermont. Gretchenrae's professional interests include identity development, inclusion & equity, and the first-generation college experience. When not at work, Gretchenrae enjoys arts & crafts, eating her way through the Pacific Northwest, and outdoor adventures with her wife.

Veteran Peer Mentors

Peer Mentors work in The Outreach Center and create opportunities for veterans to socialize and build community. They are current students who are able to answer questions you might have about life at Seattle U.

Chris Reynolds

Chris is a student at Albers School of Business majoring in Management. Chris grew up in TN and joined the Air National Guard at 21. At 24, he decided to go active duty in the Army as an MP. He has been on one deployment to Iraq. After getting injured in Iraq, Chris has taken the opportunity to use the Vocational Rehabilitation option to complete his bachelor’s degree in Business. Chris feels that he can be an asset to anyone that wants or needs help and will give much of his time to work with anyone that requests it of him.

Edward Salcedo was born in Puerto Rico and moved to the State of Florida when he was 12 years old. He joined the US ARMY and spent 6 years as a Calvary Scout. He is a Senior in the College of Nursing. Currently, Edward is working on forming a support group for veterans on campus. His interests include Global Rally Racing, Sounders, Health Care, 90's Cartoons.

Enrollment Services Assistant

The enrollment services assistant provides support to the School Certifying Officials (SCO’s) by maintaining veteran student files, answering e-mail inquiries, updating webpage material, and supporting the Outreach Center.

Zachary Lambe grew up in Salisbury, NC. He spent 5 years, in the United States Marine Corps, as a Data network specialist, configuring servers and routers for his unit. During his time in service he was stationed at Camp Lejeune, North Carolina. Currently Zachary is pursuing a Bachelor of Science with a Major in Criminal Justice/Forensic Psychology at Seattle University. He currently working in the Office of Registrar in order to assist veterans and the veteran community in continuing their education.
