[For full blog reading experience, please visit one of the coolest cities ever: San Francisco.  If that isn’t possible, eat some Ghirardelli chocolate and play this song]

    So Spring Break was AWESOME.

Amy, Cameron, Anna and I drove down to Portland for St. Patrick’s day and then drove to San Francisco on that Sunday.  The drive was a lot of fun and consisted of napping, snacking on Fruit by the Foot and licorice, and singing at the top of our lungs.

We were staying with our friend Katie who had just returned after a quarter long internship in Vietnam!  She had an amazing experience and cooked some delicious Vietnamese food for us at her house.

We went up to Sonoma!  We went out in the Castro!  We went to the beach! We went to Pier 39!  We did it all.  By the end of the day I was usually the one falling asleep standing up.

We also went to an Accepted Student Reception at the Aquarium of the Bay which was a great time and we go to meet some wonderful accepted students.  Hopefully they decided to attend SU!We listened to a lot of Fun. on the trip so that is why this song was chosen.  Also funny enough, St. Ignatius said “Go forth and set the world on fire” which is like a line in the song.  The Jesuits are everywhere.

Spring Quarter started this week and my classes should be really interesting!  It definitely won’t be an easy quarter but I might as well go out with a bang, right?  Go big or go home.

Here are some pictures of our trip!

It’s finals.  I know I have built it up but Spring Break is in sight and I am so excited.   Monday night my friend Amy and I were studying and during a long period of not studying we started singing this song.  Luckily I did finish my reflection paper for Ignatian Theology which focused on our service learning experience and how it helped us understand the core concepts of the class.  My comparative anatomy final was super difficult but it was awesome to see how much we learned throughout the quarter.  I finished my ethics final this morning and now I am done!

Here is a picture of my friend Abbey studying for her nursing final:

Also it was snowing Tuesday morning and randomly throughout the day.  ENOUGH IS ENOUGH MARCH.  Once Spring Quarter starts I expect beautiful weather.  Spring Quarter is my absolute favorite and my classes will be Ecology, Cell Biology, Drug and Alcohol Addiction and Senior Synthesis.  More to come on those.

I am headed back home to Beaverton for a couple of days and then we are headed out to San Francisco!  We are gonna celebrate St. Patrick’s day in Portland which should also be great.  What I need from Spring Break however is some sun.  AT LEAST A LITTLE BIT PLEASE.

We are making a playlist for our roadtrip and I am adding some great songs such as this one by Nick Minaj.  I love driving and I’ll probably be singing the entire time.  If you see a white SUV driving down I-5 with four college students singing this song, then it’s probably us.

I hope you get to dance this Spring Break. I know I will.  I’ll be sure to post about my trip when I get back!

    Yours truly,

    Ben Neal

[For full blog reading experience, go on a long walk to a park and breathe some fresh air]

    Hello friends!

It’s almost finals. It’s almost my LAST quarter.  I promise I will stop talking about graduation at some point.  But I am very excited!  This week has been kind of busy but now finals are just what stand in my way of SPRING BREAK.

Other highlights in my life include:

SUN.  The weather is starting to get a little but nicer.  Today is supposed to get to the 60’s!  I went on a walk to Volunteer Park yesterday and it was really nice.  Seattle has some wonderful parks and I love exploring them.  Here is a picture of my walk to campus yesterday evening:

My Intramural Rec Soccer team is going well!  We ended the season 3-1 and were ranked 2nd!  Playoffs are this weekend.  Wish us luck.  Our team name is Friendz.  Here is a team picture of most of our team (I'm the one in the middle with the yellow headband):

Another exciting note:  I am going to go see Star Wars: Episode 1 – The Phantom Menace 3D this weekend and I can’t wait.

Have a wonderful Spring Break!   Hopefully you can come visit campus and say hello!

    Yours truly,

     Ben Neal

There are a couple of reasons that a Celine Dion song was chosen as the theme for this post:

    1. It is a great song.
    2. I am trying to convince my friends for it to be the theme song of our Spring Break.
    3. The video is funny and Celine looks good in white pants.
    4. It is a really great song.
    5. You just have to smile when you hear it.

My mind is very much in the future. I am looking forward to Spring Break, Spring Quarter and graduation!  I am in need of a break and a change. Winter Quarter is almost over.  Only one more week and then finals!  My finals shouldn’t be too bad.  Comparative Anatomy is going to be tough just because there is so much to know!

My Spring Break plans are to road trip to San Francisco with three of my closest friends!  I’ll be sure to take plenty of pictures and you can see all our adventurez.  Cameron, Anna, Amy and I will be driving down together to visit and stay with our friend Katie who will be getting back from Vietnam. She is doing a program called IDIP and working at an internship over there!  She has been loving it but we are all so excited to see her.

Here is a picture of Amy from yesterday when they put the inflatable Rudy the Redhawk outside of the Student Center.  We went to the Red Out party where RedZone and SEAC and other organizations had games and more.  Plus FREE ROOT BEER FLOATS:

Also our first indoor rec soccer games were last weekend and we had so much fun!  We won our first game but lost our second.  Two more games this weekend though!  (I was so sore afterwards/ am so out of shape)

I hope you are all doing well and are just as ready for Spring as I am!

    Yours truly,

    Ben Neal
