Seattle U is uniquely positioned to take its rightful place as a university known for transforming and making a positive impact in the region and the world.

A Jesuit education means more than acquiring academic curiosity and knowledge— just as important is what you do with that knowledge and curiosity to make a difference. Our mission calls students, faculty and staff to grow personally and spiritually, to develop a sense of responsibility for themselves and their community and to make ethical choices throughout their lives.

Seattle U’s programs and centers, such as the Center for Community Engagement, the Center for Environmental Justice, the Institute for Catholic Thought and Culture, and the Fostering Scholars, Mission and Ministry and Student Development programs, provide opportunity for students, faculty and staff to engage in mission-focused community service, to demonstrate leadership in sustainable practices and environmental justice,  to explore their own spirituality and deepen their faith, and to create community. The Campaign for the Uncommon Good will raise $100 million for new and continuing programs, initiatives and research that will strengthen the university’s impact individually, locally and globally.

Seattle University faculty members play a critical role in delivering the rigorous Jesuit education for which Seattle U is known. Accomplished and renowned in their fields, our faculty is dedicated to shaping the next generation of purposeful, skilled leaders. Educators of this caliber are in high demand nationally and internationally. Seattle U must compete for the best and brightest among them or stand to lose our competitive edge. The Campaign for the Uncommon Good will fund the creation of 10-20 new positions, including endowed deanships and professorships in order to grow and retain the highest caliber faculty.

A mission that strengthens our foundation. Programs that build for the future.
