ORCA Lift Bus Subsidy

LIFT FARE CHANGES JULY 1, 2018 - now one subsidy rate for semester ($108)/quarter ($81) 

Adult Fare Changes July 1, 2018

At the beginning of each academic term, the student must purchase E-Purse and/or Monthly Pass from Orca, and the Orca product(s) must be loaded directly onto the student's Orca Lift card.  Student’s home residential address must be current with Seattle University. 

If the student purchases less than the Recommended Student Cost as listed in the chart below, Seattle University’s Orca Lift subsidy will match the dollar amount the student purchased at the beginning of each academic term. 

Example: Quarter student purchases $20 E-Purse onto the Orca Lift card, Seattle University will only subsidize $20 (not $81).

If the student purchases more than the Recommended Student Cost as listed in the chart below, Seattle University’s Orca Lift subsidy will be the Max SU Subsidy as listed in the chart below.

Example: Quarter student purchases $100 E-Purse onto the Orca Lift card, Seattle University will only subsidize $81 (not $100).

This also applies to students living outside of King County.

PLEASE NOTE THAT DUE TO ORCA LIFT FARE CHANGES JULY 1, 2018, BEGINNING FALL SEMESTER 2018/FALL QUARTER 2018 THERE IS NO LONGER INSIDE KING COUNTY AND OUTSIDE KING COUNTY ORCA LIFT SUBSIDIES.  THERE IS NOW ONLY ONE SUBSIDY:  $108 PER SEMESTER AND $81 PER QUARTER.

Non-Lift ORCA

    • Prices do not include $5.00 new card fee.
    • Any additional E-purse funds added to the ORCA card by the rider will not be subsidized.
    • If the transit service cost is more than the Puget Pass price, you are responsible for paying the additional fare.
    • Each Student is only allowed one active Seattle University Orca Card at any time with only one SU subsidized                                                                     Orca product (Puget Pass, Ferry Pass, or LIFT subsidy).
    • Subsidized Non-Lift ORCA cards must be purchased in office.
    • Last day to purchase Non-Lift Intersession Quarter ORCA products is August 31st, 2018.
    • Last day to purchase Non-Lift Fall Semester ORCA products is August 31st, 2018.

Ferry

Intersession 2018 

A ferry pass may be purchased if the customer doesn't currently have a Seattle University subsidized Orca Puget Pass or Orca LIFT Card. The Ferry Pass will include April and May passes. 

E-Purse will be provided for June.

At the beginning of each academic term, the student must purchase E-Purse and/or Monthly Pass from Orca, and the Orca product(s) must be loaded directly onto the student's Orca Lift card.  Student’s home residential address must be current with Seattle University. 

If the student purchases less than the Recommended Student Cost as listed in the chart below, Seattle University’s Orca Lift subsidy will match the dollar amount the student purchased at the beginning of each academic term. 

Example: Quarter student living in King County purchases $20 E-Purse onto the Orca Lift card, Seattle University will only subsidize $20 (not $54).

If the student purchases more than the Recommended Student Cost as listed in the chart below, Seattle University’s Orca Lift subsidy will be the Max SU Subsidy as listed in the chart below.

Example: Quarter student living in King County purchases $100 E-Purse onto the Orca Lift card, Seattle University will only subsidize $54 (not $100).

This also applies to students living outside of King County.
