Head Start and Jumpstart

Neighborhood House provides high-quality preschool education to children ages 3 to 5. Neighborhood House Head Start classrooms help children achieve success by combining excellent teaching with cultural sensitivity. Children participate in a well-rounded preschool program that includes literacy activities and social and emotional experiences to foster healthy development. Seattle University undergraduates offer classroom support to Neighborhood House and other nearby Head Start classroom through the Jumpstart program.   

Parent-Child Home Program

Neighborhood House provides home-based services to children between 2 and 3 years old using a research-proven model called the Parent-Child Home Program. This program prepares young children for school success by increasing language and literacy skills, enhancing social-emotional development and strengthening the parent-child relationship. The program is supported by a HUD Choice Neighborhood grant and the United Way of King County.

Kindergarten Orientation

Gatzert Elementary School, Neighborhood House and Seattle University partner to offer a two week kindergarten orientation at Gatzert Elementary for incoming kindergarten students and their families.
