Exhibit Opening & Dance Performance
Thursday, Jan. 26, 5–8 p.m.
Hedreen Gallery

Join in celebrating the opening of a new exhibit at the SU Hedreen Gallery. Be there at 5 p.m. to see Rohena Alam Khan opening her interdisciplinary solo exhibition with a Bharatanatyam dance performance, and then stay to enjoy food, drinks, art and community!

Shaped by Bangladesh’s Liberation War in 1971, artist Rohena Alam Khan creates as her father once raised his rifle, each layer a battle cry for freedom. Alam Khan engages the revolutionary spirit she was endowed with at birth, inspiring strength for the long fight to dismantle inequity. Her dance disrupts Muslim Bangladeshi societal expectations as she connects with her own body. Rohena Alam Khan: Daughter of a Revolution will be on display from Jan. 26–April 13.
