Congratulations to Dr. Joanne Hughes Clark, associate professor of physics, who—in partnership with colleagues at College of Idaho, St. Martin’s University and Western Washington University—was recently awarded funds from the M.J. Murdock Charitable Trust Research Across Institutions for Scientific Empowerment (RAISE) program. Funding will support the team in identifying signatures of the disruption and dissolution of global clusters in the inner Milky Way. A total of eight SU undergraduate researchers will be supported over the three-year award, several of whom will also have the opportunity to travel to the Apache Point Observatory in Sunspot, New Mexico.
