LinkUp-2023
LinkUp is the signature networking and speed mentoring event for students in the College of Arts and Sciences. Designed to be casual, informal and approachable, this annual event encourages students majoring in social sciences and humanities to explore career pathways and learn from alumni and friends of the college.

Please let your students and alumni know about this opportunity. While focused on College of Arts and Sciences students and alums, but all are welcome to participate.

Register here.

Please note that students and mentors have different arrival times.

  • Students attend from 4-6 p.m.
  • Mentors attend from 4:30-6 p.m.

This event will have several rounds of connections. The first round will be a warm-up, with students and mentors will paired randomly. After the first round of connections, students will have a chance to connect with mentors of their choice. We will have a website listing mentor backgrounds for students to select mentors with similar interests who are able to attend the in-person event.

Prior to the networking rounds, students will participate in a short workshop where they learn the basics of networking, practice introducing themselves, and how to request future informational conversations from professional mentors.

**NEW** All students will also receive a connection email with the contact information of at least two mentors to reach out to on their own time. For this connection email, we will connect students and mentors using the information provided in the registration process. We hope this email will encourage students to reach out for additional connections and questions.

Why participate in LinkUp?

Students receive answers to professional and personal questions and concerns from people who have similar degrees and interests. Meet with people who don't have linear pathways who can provide lots of insight to the career process.

Mentors benefit by helping students navigate the road ahead - making an impact. LinkUp also provides the opportunity to reflect on your experiences and knowledge.
