LSAP Summit 2024 (1)
An Invitation from President Peñalver

Dear Faculty and Staff Colleagues,

I am writing with an invitation to celebrate the accomplishments of Seattle University’s second year of the Laudato Si Action Platform.

As many of you are aware, the university has committed to institutional participation in the “Seven-Year Journey Toward Integral Ecology” through the Laudato Si Action Platform (LSAP), which we have adopted as a Reigniting Our Strategic Directions (RSD) goal. We have made this commitment in response to the call by Pope Francis in his encyclical “Laudato Si” to envision sustainability in the holistic spirit of integral ecology and to redefine and rebuild our relationship with each other and our common home.

I am hopeful and excited about the educational and operational opportunities this commitment will bring. Seattle University’s LSAP Leadership Team has, under the leadership of Co-chairs Dr. Jeanette Rodriguez and Yolanda Cieters, done tremendous work in the development, adoption and implementation of Seattle University’s Laudato Si Action Plan which includes four main priorities that span across campus operations, departments, and partnerships.

I invite you to join us on Thursday, Feb. 15, 3–5 p.m. at the LeRoux Room (STCN 160), for a celebration to lift up the LSAP goals and accomplishments as well as offer our gratitude and recognition to all who make this work possible.

At the celebration we will hear from the LSAP Executive Sponsors and a panel of faculty members. There will be a display of faculty research and information tables hosted by community partners. The program will be followed by a celebratory reception including light hors d’oeuvres.

For planning purposes, the favor of an RSVP would be appreciated.

Warm regards,

Eduardo
