Join others in celebrating Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.'s legacy and reflecting on the lessons he imparted, the dreams he shared and how we can continue to respond to his call to act in great love. Be a part of the conversation as we think about what it means to create a beloved community and how that ties into food justice.
Nurturing Roots Farm founder and Director Nyema Clark will be the keynote speaker. A Seattle native, Clark is committed to addressing food justice issues within our community. She looks to enrich underserved communities and her goal is grounded in youth empowerment and community economic sustainability.
Closing remarks and reflection will be facilitated by Ray Williams. Born in Seattle, Williams co-founded the Black Farmers Collective and is an urban farmer at Yes Farm. His work focuses on working with other farmers and community partners to build healthy communities in Seattle and King County.
