Topic: The invasion of Ukraine stresses food insecurity, access to additional funding programs and sustained advocacy across the world. 

Presenter: Rev. Dr. Scott Stearman leads NGO committees on human rights and freedom of religion, and represents the Baptist World Alliance to the United Nations. He will lead this virtual lunch on the topic with time for questions and conversation.

Stearman is active in civil society advocacy at the High-Level Political Forum around the UN’s Agenda 2030, and the UN Sustainability Development Goals. He Stearman holds a Ph.D. in philosophy (Univ. of Oklahoma) and a Th.M. and M.Div (Princeton Theological Seminary and Southwestern Baptist, respectively). 

Rooted in the Society of Jesus General Congregation 34 Decree 12 regarding a commitment to ecumenical wisdom, interreligious dialogue and religious literacy, CEIE curates conversations for our time, hosts scholars, clergy and activists on topics that address today’s challenges, works with agencies from the Parliament of the World’s Religions to the United Nations and amplifies the values of Seattle University.
