Dear Colleagues,

It is with joy and gratitude that I share the news that Andrea Fontana has accepted the invitation to step into the role of Interim Director of Campus Ministry. Andrea has been serving in the role of Associate Director of the Center for Jesuit Education since Fall 2021. Andrea first joined Seattle University as Campus Minister for Liturgical Music and Resident Minister in Campion in 1999. She also served as Campus Minister for Social Justice as well as Interim Director of Magis: Alumni Committed for Mission. She left Seattle University to work with the Ignatian Spirituality Center from 2010 until her return to Seattle University in 2021.

Andrea brings a wealth of experiences to the role as well as her creative, organizational, and spiritual gifts. She brings deep knowledge of the Jesuit Catholic tradition and mission along with grounding in Ignatian prayer, spirituality, and discernment. Her collaborative leadership style is coupled with extensive relationships within and beyond the Seattle University community. Prior to her years serving in Jesuit Works, her entire professional career has been committed to ministry. Andrea received her undergraduate degree from the University of Notre Dame and a Master of Divinity from Yale Divinity School.

The Campus Ministry Team and the entire Mission Integration Division are excited and grateful to have Andrea lead the office in this time of transition. She will fill the role until a permanent Director for Campus Ministry starts and will return then to the Center for Jesuit Education. The search for a permanent Director is currently underway and is being led by Jennifer Tilghman-Havens, Executive Director of the Center for Jesuit Education.

Sincerely,

Catherine Punsalan-Manlimos
Vice President for Mission Integration
