If you've always dreamed of running your own business one day, then take a crack at solving real-world problems for real companies with an Albers signature event this Friday.

The 2022 Jones Idea Challenge & Corporate Reverse Pitch is designed just for SU undergrad students. Solve a real company problem, work with a team coach, and compete for cash prizes of up to $2,500.

Three benefits in joining the Jones Idea Challenge:

  1. Meet like-minded entrepreneurial people. Who knows? One of them could even be a future co-founder.
  2. Learn how to pitch to companies. Start building a valuable skill that'll come in handy for soliciting funding, partnerships, and more.
  3. Network with and establish relationships with Seattle's business professionals. They're always on the lookout for promising young talent to recruit.

What happens at the Jones Idea Challenge?

The event is fast-paced, fun and a great learning opportunity. How it goes:

  • Jan. 21: Pitch Day. Companies pitch a problem with the theme "Tech for Social Impact."
  • Jan. 25: Teams of 1-2 students choose a problem to solve and are matched with a business coach to create an innovative solution.
  • March 4: Final Presentation. Teams will pitch back their solutions. Company judges award prizes for first place ($2,500), second place ($1,500) and third place ($1,000).
