Graduate Coordinator, Student Success & Retention
Being a first-generation college student on the relatively small, diverse and urban-serving campus of UW Tacoma, really helped me connect with my peers on a deeper level. I was involved with the Student Activities Board, where I assisted in event planning and community outreach. My very first "office job" was in the Office of Student Transitions as a Peer Advisor. It was through this position that I was offered a glimpse into the career field of higher education. My next position would be in the Office of International Programs as a Study Abroad Ambassador, where I would assist in the development and implementation of programs and help lead a short study abroad trip to Costa Rica. And the job after that, also where I currently work part-time, would be at Green River College as an International Student Advisor. I still live in Tacoma but pursuing Master of Education degree in Student Development Administration at Seattle University. When I'm not in the office or classroom and when I'm not drowning in responsibilities, you can find me on the soccer field, kicking the ball around or on my couch watching SpongeBob SquarePants or anything on either the Travel or History Channel.
