In alignment with Seattle University’s Strategic Plan, First-Gen Partners works to enhance the campus environment and retention for first-generation college students by making recommendations for improved support services and resources to the University departments and administration.
The group acknowledges the unique strengths first-generation college students possess and the institutional challenges they face in pursuing higher education. The Partners will listen to the experiences of first-generation college students in order to identify and remove barriers to their success. In keeping with our Jesuit ethos and mission to cultivate leaders for a just and humane world, the group works to dismantle these challenges and create a more equitable environment for first-generation college students.
