Mandatory COVID Surveillance Testing Program

Fall 2021 Mandatory Screening/Surveillance Testing Requirement

The university’s COVID-19 screeing/surveillance testing program for fall quarter began the week of 9/27/21. On-campus screening testing will be billed to your health insurance, but you will not be responsible for costs that are not covered by your insurance if you test at the Murphy garage you do not need to upload your test results but if you test at Curative or any off campus location please upload to COVID-19 Test Results submission in the file for the week the test happened. If you are late submitting please email to COVIDtesting@seattleu.edu. You will be responsbile for determining costs if you choose to test at a different location and will not be reimbursed by the university.

Unvaccinated Students

Residential and commuter students who are not fully vaccinated, including those with approved exemptions, will be required to test weekly.   

  • Students with appoved exemptions are encourage to test at the Murphy garage location. Call the Student Health Center at 206-296-6300 to schedule.
  • Students who are in the process of getting the COVID vaccine but do not meet the criteria for fully vaccinated must participate in weekly testing until they have passed two weeks since the last dose of their vaccine. We encourage you to test at the on-campus Curative kiosk.
  • Students who do not comply with the screening testing requirement may be fined or subject to additional disciplinary action through the Office of the Dean of Students.  

Vaccinated Students

A random sample of 10% of vaccinated students will be selected on a weekly basis. If you are selected, you are required to test in your designated week. 

  • You will need to upload your test results from Curative or an off-campus provider to the COVID-19 Test Results submission and select the week the test was done. Testing should be completed by Friday of that week and the results must be uploaded by end of day Monday of the following week. If you are late submitting please email to COVIDtesting@seattleu.edu. 
  • Anyone who has tested positive for COVID-19 in the past 90 days is not required to participate in screeninge testing, but they must report their positive test result to covid-19-report@seattleu.edu 
  • If you will not be on campus for any reason you can select "Request an off-campus exemption from surveillance testing" at COVID-19 Test Results submission and you will be exempted.
  • Students who do not comply with the screening testing requirement may be fined or subject to additional disciplinary action through the Office of the Dean of Students.
