???Seguir Adelante! Women Moving Forward and Inspiring Change in Guatemala?
Thursday, Sept. 26,
5-7 p.m. (Opening remarks 5-5:30 p.m.)
Kinsey Gallery (Admissions and Alumni Building)
??Seguir Adelante! Women Moving Forward and Inspiring Change in Guatemala? is a display of photos, creative projects, and field research carried out by students and faculty from three different colleges (Claire Garoutte of Arts and Sciences, Kristi Lee of Education and Serena Cosgrove of Matteo Ricci College) in conjunction with the Seattle International Foundation (SIF).
The research team traveled to Chimaltenango, Guatemala, to learn more about the impact of GENERANDO, a women?s nonprofit working to end violence against women. Faculty, students and SIF staff interviewed and photographed GENERANDO?s beneficiaries as well as state authorities to learn more about the effects of women?s nonprofit leadership and cross-sector collaborations. This event is sponsored by Matteo Ricci College and the Poverty Education Center. For more information, contact Serena Cosgrove at firstname.lastname@example.org.
