Report from Michaela Kearns, Graduate Assistant & current MA in Pastoral Studies Student

On Thursday, April 3rd, Seattle University's School of Theology and Ministry hosted the final Outreach Team Cluster meeting this 2013-2104 academic year. Two communions were present, the Disciples of Christ and the Unitarian Universalists and were well-represented and engaged in insightful conversation about what it means to partner with an intentionally ecumenical and interreligious school.
Team chairs and formation chaplains have had many fruitful conversations throughout the year about how to accompany students from application to programs, through graduation and beyond. Exploratory conversations had begun about the essential strengths needed by leaders of religious communities today. Planning now begins for 2014-2015, including transforming our kick-off event, "Our Story", into a student-focused gathering at which students share their stories across experiences. Next year promises to be filled with equal development and life as the energy of these teams grow!
