Student Benefit: Graduate Student Council

The mission of Seattle University's Graduate Student Council (GSC) is to improve the graduate student experience at Seattle University by communicating the needs and ideas of the graduate student body to the University. The Council organizes social gatherings to build community and networking, and annually accepts proposals for potential funding of projects that enhance and expand the graduate student experience.


Annually, the Graduate Student Council receives funds to distribute to Seattle University graduate students. The GSC budges funds for allocations to SU graduate students, student organizations, and academic programs for personal and professional development, event that promote community among the graduate student body and uphold the mission and values of Seattle University.

Who can apply?

  • All Seattle University graduate students are eligible for funding
  • Any college, program, organization, or cohort of currently enrolled Seattle University graduate students is eligible for funding. The names and contact information of at least three current graduate students involved in the event must be listed on the application
  • Individual graduate students must be sponsored by a student organization or academic program
  • The GSC welcomes all ideas for funding requests from Seattle University graduate students; however, the GSC has the final authority on the amount funded
