For almost two decades, the School of Theology and Ministry has offered a unique leadership program in three languages in the Pacific Northwest and around the world, entitled Scripture & Leadership Training (SALT). Participants are able to engage the material in English, Spanish or Vietnamese as they seek to connect Scripture to their life through reflection and prayer in the context of an adult learning community, as they develop interactive skills which enable effective group leadership.

This next weekend, 61 leaders will celebrate their completion of the three year program in the Chapel of St. Ignatius. Of the 61 leaders representing 11 parishes in the Pacific Northwest, 40 are monolingual or bilingual Spanish speakers, and all will receive their certificate of completion during our closing ceremony. The SALT program has prepared these leaders to connect scripture understanding to their spirituality and their own leadership development--equipping them to lead in their own faith communities and neighborhoods in a variety of contexts.
