Seattle University?s School of Theology and Ministry is pleased to announce that faculty member and Associate Dean of Academic Affairs, Dr. Faustino (Tito) Cruz, SM, has been elected as a member of the national Accreditation Commission for the Association for Clinical Pastoral Education (ACPE). Dr. Cruz will be contributing to the conversation surrounding accreditation and standards on a national level.
In addition, faculty member and Program Director of the school?s Doctor of Ministry degree, Dr. Sharon Henderson Callahan, has been selected to participate in ACPE?s Pacific Region regional council as a university liaison. Dr. Callahan will represent the perspective of university/seminary members on the regional council, throughout discussions of the Association?s current and future work.

The Association for Clinical Pastoral Education (ACPE) is an accrediting body for Clinical Pastoral Education programs nationwide, recognizing exceptional programs that prepare multicultural, multifaith caregivers to serve individuals of all life situations and faith backgrounds. Programs accredited by ACPE are recognized leaders in the field of clinical pastoral care. The Association encourages experiential learning in clinical settings and promotes professional competence to better prepare students for their ministry. It is an honor for Dr. Cruz to be elected to contribute to the accrediting body at the national level, and for Dr. Callahan to work regionally as a university/seminary liason.

Congratulations to both Dr. Cruz and Dr. Callahan!
