Distance Education Extends to Oregon & Alaska
Seattle University School of Theology and Ministry has had several student cohorts in Oregon and Alaska over the last seven years. This academic year, the School is serving an even larger portion of the Pacific Northwest, as we partner with different organizations throughout the region to provide worldclass graduate education to geographic areas that don?t have ready access. ??This Fall quarter, three classes have been streamed to Oregon and Alaska while simultaneously happening in front of a live classroom, with live interactivity?Dr. Mark Taylor?s ?STMA 504 God, Creation and Trinity?, Dr. Rick Russell?s "STM 557 Ministerial Theological Integration", and Dr. Mike Rashko?s "STM 500 Christian Anthropology."
This next Winter quarter, no less than six classes will be videoconferencing to students in various parts of Oregon and Alaska. Spring quarter, Yakima Valley will be included in the distance education sites that have interactive, live class offerings.
Special thanks to Dr. Sharon Callahan for spearheading these efforts, to Simone Winston for her staff support of that great tech service, and to Lizzie Young for advising Alaska students and Colette Casavant for advising Oregon students.
