Meet the Center’s Practitioner-in-Residence

The Center for Religious Wisdom & World Affairs is pleased to announce the appointment of Mr. Rizwan Rizwi, Executive Director of Muslim Housing Services, as Practitioner-in-Residence for the 2018 – 2019 academic year.

Rizwi, Rizwan_HeadshotMr. Rizwi brings extensive executive leadership experience in faith-based social services, global investment management, and Islamic banking and finance. As Executive Director of Muslim Housing Services, Mr. Rizwi has refined organizational strategies and developed cross-sector partnerships to support the provision of culturally competent employment, education, health and legal services that work to ensure housing stability and sustainability for clients across the Puget Sound region. Since 2012, Mr. Rizwi has also served as President and CEO of SAR Wealth Management. Prior to that, he spent a number of years managing an equity portfolio at Smith Barney Citigroup.

As Practitioner-in-Residence Mr. Rizwi will support the Center’s work to assist faith-based organizations in developing more effective strategies as they respond to homelessness and the housing crisis. Mr. Rizwi will bring a practitioner’s lens to the implementation of the Center's thematic working group process; support the translation of working group learnings into a capacity-building resource for the wider community, and contribute to the delivery of professional development classes and other community engagement initiatives.
