Stake President, Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints
Michael R. Anderson was born and raised in San Jose, California. At the age of 19, Mr. Anderson served a full-time mission to Guadalajara, Mexico, for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. In 1989, Mr. Anderson graduated from Brigham Young University in Provo, Utah, with a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering. He then began working at the Boeing Company where he is currently employed as a Research & Development Engineer. Mr. Anderson earned a Master’s degree in Engineering Management in 2001 from Washington State University.
Mr. Anderson has served continuously in various volunteer positions within the LDS Church. He also currently serves in the community as an Executive Board Member for the BSA Chief Seattle Council. Mr. Anderson served as the bishop of his congregation from 2004 to 2010 and began his current assignment as President of the LDS Renton Stake in October 2012.
