Criteria
Recipients of the St. Ignatius Medal will:
- have served the University or a cause or mission that advances the work of the University directly in a volunteer capacity for at least 10 years.
- demonstrate through service and/or faith an unwavering belief in the mission of Seattle University.
- represent through a record of contributions in service a commitment to a just and humane world.
- provide inspiration, through a record of achievements inspired in the Jesuit tradition, so that others might be motivated toward similar achievements and service.
The award may only be given once a year. The recipient may be an individual, a married couple, or, in rare cases, a group whose work satisfies the award criteria. A recipient may receive the award only once during his or her lifetime. If no eligible recipients are identified or endorsed in a particular year, the St. Ignatius Medal will not be given.
